Music Education

I completed this video project about the importance of music education for my Introduction to Digital Storytelling class. As a musician of now 11 years in total (including nine seasons of marching band), music has always been an important part of my life that I enjoy sharing with others when given the opportunity.

I had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Arris Golden - UNC's former Assistant Director of Bands - for this project. She is now in a similar role at Michigan State University. Arris is one of the most inspiring music educators I've ever met, and I was so grateful for her willingness to offer her perspective on the subject.

I learned many concepts about shooting video in this class, such as framing different types of shots, monitoring audio, white balance/color correcting and more. This class was also where I first learned how to edit video in Adobe Premiere: arranging and cutting clips, adding transitions and subtitles/graphics, adjusting audio levels and more.
